Session 1 : 1262 NOW!!! Bring your own physical computer (BYOPC) becomes a reality with integration of VMware Player plus & Horizon Mirage
Abstract: When it comes to Bring Your Own Physical Computer (BYOPC), desktop virtualization (DV) is the first thing that comes to one’s mind. Though desktop virtualization can work without network connectivity but still is highly dependent on network for its functioning. What if the solution needs to be extended to employees, customers, contractors, partners and temporary or disconnected workers with more strong IT control say for example marking the expiry date of desktop environment for temporary workers when their employment term is over. Will desktop virtualization deliver such capabilities? The integration between two unique technologies viz. VMware Player Plus & Horizon Mirage is a true option which makes BYOPC realistic thereby delivering freedom of choice to end users and tight control by IT team. While Player Plus delivers a managed desktop on a PC by running the virtual machine containing standardized desktop image, Mirage will deliver manage that image over LAN/WAN. The whole idea about this session is to understand the architecture of the integration between VMware Player plus & horizon Mirage along with design best practices and do’s and don’ts to leverage existing resources.
Session 2 : 1462 Unleashing Horizon Mirage Branch Reflector & its impact on Mirage sizing
Abstract: Horizon Mirage is unique disruptive technology in the field of physical endpoint management & recovery. It distinguishes itself from others on this planet by way it manages the involved data in various stages of rest, motion and use specially over WAN. Branch reflector, though a small component but a unique & critical component of Mirage’s architecture greatly offloads the Mirage server load by using de-duplication techniques for its efficient working at branch sites. It uses advanced algorithms to deliver critical features & functionality used by thousands of endpoints without hitting much on storage and network. It is needed to understand the deep impact of Branch reflector on the overall sizing & solution. The whole idea of this session is to unleash branch reflector’s architecture and ways to optimize network & storage requirements for the mirage solution.

Abstract: When it comes to run Windows or Linux or Mac, one product that pops into one’s mind is VMware fusion. In this session, we will talk about A to Z about fusion including installation, features, operations and troubleshooting. This one session will help you understand all features of delivered by VMware fusion and not just the common ones. Attend this 1 hour session to learn all A to Z about VMware fusion along with all tips and tricks.
Session 4: 1515 How to Build a Hack-Proof Software Defined Datacenter Through Software Defined Security
In the dawn of new IT age, Software defined datacenter is the new rising sun which is dimming the current hardware defined datacenter approach for IT. This tectonic shift in IT not just affects the compute, storage and network, but also the security and its design aspect. You may wonder what’s wrong in using the hardware defined security (HDS) method in the new era of Software Defined Datacenter, but HDS gets obsolete in new software defined approach. This session is about understanding Software Defined Security (SDS) design options and best practices around building a secure HACK PROOF virtualized datacenter. Security is not about securing data using a tool or using an option, but altogether a holistic approach towards how to secure infrastructure at each layer, be at network, storage, Virtual machine or data, at every level. A single weak spot or vulnerability may lead to security breach for the entire datacenter. The whole idea about this session is to put some light on the areas where security needs to be addressed, different options available to mitigate those gaps and design best practices to build a secure & simple software defined datacenter.
Session 5: 2007 It’s time to build Self-Healing Software defined Datacenter
Today’s datacenters are dictated by the terms reliability and availability and measured by SLA. Main aim of any IT organization is to minimize downtime of the applications and also reduce costs for same while doing so. Majority of the time spent by Admin’s are on maintenance and troubleshooting of the environment. With the reactive approach Admin’s face a problem, try to find the root cause & then an appropriate fix for same. This approach is rigid and not very effective and efficient. This session would deep-dive into ways of minimizing down time in the datacenter (DC) and make it more robust & efficient by making the DC Self-healing/Self-correcting using three different VMware products – VMware vCenter Operations Manager, VMware vCenter Orchestrator and PowerCLI. In this session audience will also witness use cases and ways/steps to build customized self-healing capabilities to suit their environment.
Session 6: 2287 Enterprise Collaboration with Socialcast – A to Z unleashed.
Socialcast is the trusted enterprise social networking platform for social collaboration, ideation, and project management. It connects people to the knowledge, ideas and resources they need to work better together The On-Premise option allows installing Socialcast within datacenter, behind a firewall, giving complete control of the community and ensuring the utmost data security. On-Premise is specifically designed for companies in highly regulated industries that must comply with HIPPA, EU data privacy rules etc. In this session we will see how to build an on-premise, scalable architecture to deploy Socialcast considering all best practices with do’s and don’ts. We will witness configuration of some premium features like automatic account provisioning and syncing through Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) etc. We will also deep dive into areas addressing performance issues and optimization strategies to help you get the most out of your Socialcast community.
